INSTITUTE OF BANK MANAGEMENT
"A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN THE SERVICE OF BANKS, FIS AND THEIR CUSTOMERS"
(AN INSTITUTE SPONSORED BY RBI, NABARD AND FIVE PSU BANKS)
The importance of Regional Offices (ROs) of banks in the present banking environment needs no emphasis. Apart from effective implementation of the strategies of the banks, the ROs are required to contribute to business growth, reduction in NPAs and also recovery, ensure branch viability/profitability and also play the role of a friend, philosopher and guide to branches. Thus, the Regional Managers (RMs) and Deputy Regional Managers (DRMs) heading ROs, should have a comprehensive understanding of the banking environment apart from qualities that are required to "lead" the ROs. Through this captioned workshop, an attempt is being made to sensitize the RMs/DRMs that the present challenges of banks can only be tackled through effective management of ROs. And needless to mention, with special thrust on profitability so that a RO function as a mini-bank within the bank.
