INSTITUTE OF BANK MANAGEMENT
"A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN THE SERVICE OF BANKS, FIS AND THEIR CUSTOMERS"
(AN INSTITUTE SPONSORED BY RBI, NABARD AND FIVE PSU BANKS)
WHY THIS PROGRAMME?
Indian Institute of Bank Management has been conducting training programmes for Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks and State Cooperative Banks as a part of its capacity building mandate. The focus of these programmes has been mainly on development of functional skills. However, success of an organisation depends ultimately on the level of motivation, skills and attitudinal aspect of the employees. No amount of functional skill will translate into organisational success unless the people in the organisation have the right attitude and the motivation to perform. The importance of security management has now been universally acknowledged in every sector. Therefore, there is a need for continuous upgradation of skills of the officials directly and indirectly engaged in security management. Besides technical skills there is an imperative need for the development of managerial, HR and other soft skills for the Security Managers as their services are primarily people oriented and they have to deal with their own staff and other staff of the organization, the clients and the general public.
The programme aims to help the participants to obtain an insight into their personalities, assess their own strengths and weaknesses and be able to motivate themselves and their colleagues for high level of performance through attitudinal re-orientation. The focus will be on the managerial role and responsibilities.
