Mr. Mayur Bora, currently on deputation as a faculty member at IIBM, Guwahati has more than two decades of experience in the realm of development banking. He joined NABARD as an Assistant Manager in 1996 and is currently holding the position of Deputy General Manager. Having worked in NABARD Regional Offices in Lucknow, Guwahati and Chandigarh he is well aware of the macro-level challenges, the micro-level intricacies and the subtleties of development banking in those places. He has wide field experience as he successfully completed his stint as a District Development Manager (DDM) in Jorhat district of Assam. His tenure as DDM witnessed a significant jump in ground level credit flow by all agencies along with a corresponding increase in the number of SHGs, JLGs financed by the banks in that district. Agriculture credit in general and KCC in particular received a vigorous fillip during that period.
As a faculty member at IIBM, his area of specialization includes all aspects pertaining to the financing of SHG, JLG, KCC, Farmers’ Clubs, Financial Inclusion etc. Mr. Bora also handles classes to improve the soft skills of the bankers in order to ensure greater customer satisfaction and brighter brand equity of the organizations. He has so far conducted more than fifty programmes as a Programme Director including some important in-company programmes like Workshops of Security Officers of Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Rajbhasha Officers of Bank of Baroda.
