WHY THIS PROGRAMME?

It is rather disturbing to note that the NPAs in RRBs, SFBs, UCBs, Banks & NBFCs have shown an increasing trend on the one hand, and on the other the recovery rate from the NPAs has not improved in tandem. One of the reasons, accepted and acknowledged by all including the top managements of banks/FIs has been lack of understanding of the provisions of SARFAESI Act and the procedural aspects of DRT. Therefore, a complete understanding of the SARFAESI Act as also DRT with practical aspects in applying various provisions for better recovery from NPAs is the need of the hour.

WHAT FOR?

The Indian Institute of Bank Management (IIBM), Guwahati has taken the initiative in organizing one day sensitization program on this important and useful topic for the benefit of personnel working in Banks, RRBs, Cooperative Banks, Small Finance Banks, NBFCs and also for Debt Recovery Agents. In this one day non-residential program, it is planned to cover entire gamut of issues, challenges and practical difficulties in the application of SARFAESI Act & DRT related issues. Through this participative, problem-solving sensitization program with practical cases, it is hoped that the participating institutions will be able to take full advantage of these two important recovery instruments to improve recovery rate from NPAs.
